The attacks stretched across the occupied territory. Settlers torched a home in al-Lubban Asharqiya, south of Nablus, forcing Palestinian Civil Defence teams to extinguish the blaze. In Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, settlers burned a citizen's vehicle and spray-painted racist slogans on house walls, according to Palestinian security sources cited by the Wafa news agency.
Israeli Forces Join Attacks
Israeli forces participated in the harassment campaign. In al-Asa'asa village in Jenin, troops forced residents to exhume a newly buried body and relocate it elsewhere, claiming the burial site sat too close to an illegal Israeli settlement.
Forces also fired stun grenades at Palestinian families picnicking at Burak Sulayman (Solomon's Pools), south of Bethlehem. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society treated two people for tear gas inhalation and evacuated five others from the scene.
In Tuqu, southeast of Bethlehem, Israeli forces fired tear gas and sound bombs at worshippers leaving a local mosque, trapping several inside. Mayor Taysir Abu Mufreh confirmed the incident to Wafa.
Systematic Pattern of Impunity
The Friday violence adds to a pattern of settler attacks that human rights groups say Israeli authorities allow to operate with total impunity. Israeli forces arrested seven Palestinians over the weekend — four men in Battir while hiking near a railway line, and three more during a raid on Nablus.
Israel approved a plan in February to claim large areas of the occupied West Bank as "state property." More than 700,000 Israelis now live in illegal settlements throughout the occupied territory, violating international law.
The escalating settler violence threatens to destabilize the region further while American taxpayers continue funding Israeli security forces that facilitate these attacks. The pattern shows how U.S. aid enables systematic harassment of Palestinian civilians while Israeli authorities face no accountability for allowing settler militias to operate freely.
