Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas G. DiNanno will visit three NATO Eastern Flank allies next week, making stops in Warsaw, Bucharest, and Tallinn from May 11-15 to coordinate defense strategy and arms sales.

The five-day diplomatic mission comes as NATO's eastern members face continued security threats from Russia. DiNanno will focus heavily on strengthening America's defense industry ties with these frontline allies.
Poland Talks Target Defense Industry
In Warsaw, DiNanno will meet with senior Polish government officials to discuss cooperation on defense and civil nuclear energy projects. The talks will also address critical defense industry issues including EU defense protectionism that has frustrated American companies seeking European contracts.
DiNanno plans separate meetings with U.S. industry representatives to discuss the America First Arms Transfer Strategy, Foreign Military Sales reform, co-production partnerships, and defense innovation initiatives. These discussions aim to streamline weapons sales to key allies while protecting American industrial interests.
Romania Summit and Estonia Conference
The Under Secretary will represent the United States at the Bucharest 9 (B9) Summit in Romania, a gathering of NATO's Eastern Flank and Nordic allies. The B9 format includes Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, plus Nordic partners.
DiNanno's trip concludes in Tallinn, Estonia, where he will meet with senior Estonian officials and attend the Lennart Meri Conference, an annual security forum that draws top defense and foreign policy officials from across Europe and North America.
The mission underscores the administration's focus on strengthening NATO's eastern defenses while ensuring American companies benefit from increased allied defense spending. All three countries have significantly boosted military budgets since Russia's actions in Ukraine.
