Police executed a search warrant Tuesday night at a Minneapolis apartment tied to the son of U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., according to multiple law enforcement sources who spoke with Alpha News. Guns and ammunition were recovered from the scene, the sources say, though the department has offered few details publicly.
The Minneapolis Police Department would not confirm the warrant or what was recovered when asked directly about the incident. Asked what took place at the apartment, MPD confirmed only that a different man, not the congresswoman's son, was arrested earlier the same day.

Police identified him as Abdulrahman Abdi, 22. He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge and released Wednesday night, jail records show.
Alpha News reports, citing law enforcement sources, that Abdi is the roommate of Omar's son, identified only by the first name Adnan, and that the overnight warrant targeted the apartment the two share. MPD will not go that far. The department has not confirmed guns and ammunition came from the apartment, or that any of it involves Omar's son.
This is a developing story out of Minneapolis. It will be updated.
